The ESB2026 welcomes the submission of symposia proposals. The goal of these symposia is to provide a forum for focused discussions on new and emerging topics or innovative applications of established approaches. A symposium can address a specific topic or it may present the joint research of scientific societies or international consortia. Please note that proposals that are of interest for a larger audience and that have not been selected for a symposium, may be merged into the scientific program as a topic of a regular session. The deadline for submission of the proposals for symposia is November 30th, 2025. Proposals must be submitted using ESB2026 template. Please complete all details. Applicants will be informed about the acceptance or rejection in January 2026.

SYMPOSIA SPEAKERS AND CHAIRS

The duration of each symposium is 90 min. Each symposium should consist of 1 keynote presentation and at least 4 oral presentations selected from the submitted abstracts. The allocated presentation time, including Q&A, is 25 min for the keynote speaker and 15 min for contributed papers. Oral contributions will be included in accepted symposia based on accepted abstracts and their match with the symposium topic. These durations may be subjected to slight adaptations to fit the final program. The symposia are led by a chair and a co-chair, both must be registered as conference attendees to avoid no-show onsite. Upon acceptance of the symposium, the keynote speaker must submit an abstract of the presentation before March 15th 2026 using the abstract submission tool and register to the conference no later than June 15th 2026. The keynote speakers of the symposium proposals that have not been selected have the opportunity to submit an abstract for the regular scientific program.

TRAVELLING AND REGISTRATION COSTS OF SPEAKERS AND CHAIRS

Please note that the symposia organizers are the only responsible for all the financial arrangements of their proposed symposia. Due to financial restrictions, the ESB2026 conference organizers are NOT able to support the travel and registration costs for keynote speakers and symposium chairs. Conference registration of the keynote speaker(s) and chairpersons is a mandatory pre-requisite for participation and to held the proposed symposium.

ROOM RENTAL AND AV EQUIPMENT

The ESB2026 conference organizers will allocate standard conference rooms for the symposia and will offer the standard AV equipment that is required in these rooms. The use of any other extra materials is under symposia organizers’ responsibility.
